# Privacy Policy

Summarize ("the App") turns text or images you provide into short summaries. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it.

## What we collect
- **Account:** email address and a password (stored as a one-way hash). We use these only to authenticate you.
- **Input content:** the text or image you submit for summarization, and the generated summary, if you choose to save it. Saved summaries are tied to your account so you can view and organize them later.
- **Usage data:** the number of summaries you create, used to enforce your weekly credit allowance.
- **Purchase data:** subscription status is managed by the app stores / RevenueCat; we receive only entitlement events (e.g. active/expired) to enable your subscription.

## How we use it
- To provide the summarization feature and manage your subscription/credits.
- To save and display your summaries and folders.
- We do **not** sell your data or use it for cross-context advertising.

## AI processing
Submitted text and images are sent to our backend, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your summary. Do not submit information you would not share with such a provider.

## Data retention
You can delete any saved summary at any time from the app. Deleting your account (contact us) removes your account data.

## Security
Authentication uses signed tokens (JWT). Passwords are hashed. Database access is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

## Your rights
You may access or delete your saved summaries in-app. For other requests, contact us.
